Maddie's Stanley Visits Alaska
Stanley is visiting Sharon, Dominic, Andrew, Martin, Nathan, and Bryan in Copper Center, Alaska.

Alaska is the largest state in The United States. There is a lot of wildlife in Alaska.

Caribou are really cool animals. When they are on a farm, they are called reindeer. In the wild, they migrate from Alaska to Canada every year.

The Kennicott Mine used to process copper ore. It is closed down now but you can still take a tour and see the old buildings and machinery.

Sharon writes: The Grizzly Bears always find their way to the rivers by June when the salmon start running up stream to return home and lay their eggs. Bears spend the summer eating salmon. In the fall, they look for berries.

Fishing and other outdoor activities are very popular in Alaska. The mountains and rivers are very beautiful!
